The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) is the national organization providing compassionate care for the families of America’s fallen military heroes.   When a member of America’s armed forces dies, TAPS is on the front lines providing compassionate care to the families left behind.
Founded in 1994, TAPS has assisted over 70,000 surviving family members, casualty officers and caregivers who are grieving the loss of a loved one who was supporting the military mission, regardless of the geography or the circumstances of their death.  We are proud that TAPS has received a Four Star Rating from Charity Navigator for three consecutive years.
TAPS provides peer-based emotional support, grief and trauma resources, grief seminars for adults, Good Grief Camps for children, case work assistance, connections to community-based care, and a 24/7 resource and information helpline for all who have been affected by a death in the Armed Forces. TAPS receives no government funding; our services are free to the surviving family members we serve.  Our extensive donor network provides ongoing support for our programs.
